Hamdi Abdallah Abdel-Latif, is a 49 years old Palestinian farmer who has a family of six members and owns seven dunums (1.75 acres) of land in Duma, on which he relies for a living. As a Palestinian farmer, Hamdi recognizes the importance of land and olive trees to his community's livelihood and cultural heritage. Hamdi recognizes that land is not only a means of production but also a symbol of the Palestinian people's historical connection to their homeland. Hamdi was able to receive 150 olive trees as a result of the Olive Tree Campaign, which will allow him to continue farming on his land and support his family.

Duma is a Palestinian village situated in the Nablus Governorate in the West Bank, located about 20.3 km southeast of Nablus city at an elevation of 615 m above sea level. As per the 2007 census, the village had a population of 2,067 Palestinians, with roughly equal numbers of males and females. The total area of Duma is around 18,318 dunums (4526 acres), out of which 4,806 dunums (1188 acres) are arable. The agricultural sector in Duma faces numerous challenges, including a lack of agricultural roads, water resources, capital for investment, and veterinary services. The high cost of agricultural inputs, particularly feed, is also causing difficulties for farmers. Moreover, the lack of economic feasibility for agricultural investment is discouraging farmers from pursuing new opportunities. Duma's land is classified as Area B (5%) and Area C (95%). Nearby Israeli colonies (settlements) include "Ma'ale Efraim", situated approximately 4.5 kilometers to the east, and "Migdalim", located around 5 kilometers to the southeast.
