Khalid Abdel-Rahman Rayyan, is a 55 years old Palestinian farmer, a father of seven children and the owner of two dunums (0.5 acres) of agricultural land in Beit Duqqu. Because Khaled's land is in the C area, he faces numerous challenges. And he says that taking care of the land and planting olive trees in it is very important because it shows that we are resilient and that the land has an owner who cannot be taken away. The land to the Palestinians is important as the family important to each one. The land embodies our culture, history, and identity. Khaled received 50 olive trees from the Olive Tree Campaign to help him protect his land.

Beit Duqqu is a village in the Jerusalem governorate, located about 9 kilometers northwest of the city of Jerusalem. It shares borders with Beit Anan, Al-Tira (Ramallah Governorate), Beit Ijza, Al-Jib, and Al-Qubeiba. According to the 2007 census, the village had a population of 1461 people, with 308 households and 370 housing units. Beit Duqqu covers approximately 5,512 dunums (1362 acres) of land, with 3606 dunums (891 acres) being arable and 206 dunums (51 acres) being residential. The agricultural sector faces several challenges, including a lack of capital, economic feasibility, high fodder and livestock prices, and limited water sources. Following the 1995 accords, 10.6% of the village land was classified as Area B, while 89.4 % was classified as Area C. Unfortunately, Israel has taken land from Beit Duqqu to build the Israeli colony (settlement) of 'Giv'at Ze'ev'.
