Mohammad Farah Jamhour, is a 50 years old Palestinian farmer, with 6 family members and owns 5 dunums (1.25 acres) of land in Beit Anan. Olive trees and land are essential resources that are crucial for their livelihood and survival. Many Palestinian farmers rely on olive tree cultivation as a primary source of income, and the olive oil industry is a significant contributor to the Palestinian economy. The olive tree is a resilient plant that can survive in arid conditions and requires little water, making it well-suited to the harsh climate in many parts of Palestine he said. He also added that many Palestinian farmers remain determined to continue cultivating their land and preserving their olive trees. For them, the olive tree and the land are not just sources of income, but also symbols of their identity and resilience in the face of occupation and displacement. The Olive Tree Campaign provided Mohammad with 150 olive trees to support him and enable him to continue taking care of his land.

Beit 'Anan is a town located in the Jerusalem Governorate, around 14 kilometers to the northwest of Jerusalem. As per the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, the population of Beit Anan was 3,589 in 2007, with an almost equal number of males and females. The town covers an area of approximately 10,106 dunums (2,027 acres), out of which 5,573 dunums (1377 acres) are suitable for agriculture and 443 (111 acres) are designated as residential. Agriculture faces numerous challenges, such as a lack of resources for farmers, limited access to pesticides, the presence of the Segregation Wall, limited water sources, restricted access to agricultural lands, insufficient capital and economic feasibility, land confiscation, and a shortage of land renovation by relevant authorities. The neighboring Israeli colony (settlement) of Giv'at Ze'ev, which was established in 1977, is situated on land that was taken from Beit ‘Anan and other Palestinian villages.
