Khuwayla Sulaiman Ahmad, is a 60 years old Palestinians farmer, is a landowner in Beit 'Anan with four family members. The olive trees and land are not only critical to our political situation, but also to the Palestinian economy, as the olive oil industry provides a significant source of income for many families. Trees are also used for food, fuel, and construction materials. Khuwayla was given 75 olive trees as part of the olive tree campaign to keep her on the land.

Beit 'Anan is a town located in the Jerusalem Governorate, around 14 kilometers to the northwest of Jerusalem. As per the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, the population of Beit Anan was 3,589 in 2007, with an almost equal number of males and females. The town covers an area of approximately 10,106 dunums (2,027 acres), out of which 5,573 dunums (1377 acres) are suitable for agriculture and 443 (111 acres) are designated as residential. Agriculture faces numerous challenges, such as a lack of resources for farmers, limited access to pesticides, the presence of the Segregation Wall, limited water sources, restricted access to agricultural lands, insufficient capital and economic feasibility, land confiscation, and a shortage of land renovation by relevant authorities. The neighboring Israeli colony (settlement) of Giv'at Ze'ev, which was established in 1977, is situated on land that was taken from Beit ‘Anan and other Palestinian villages.
