Naeem Dhiab Jamhour owns property in Beit Anan. For thousands of years, the olive tree has been an important part of Palestinian culture and identity, according to Naeem. It has been cultivated for over 6,000 years in Palestine and is regarded as a symbol of peace, wisdom, and longevity. To encourage Naeem to stay on his land, the Olive Tree Campaign gave him 50 olive trees.
Beit 'Anan is a town located in the Jerusalem Governorate, around 14 kilometers to the northwest of Jerusalem. As per the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, the population of Beit Anan was 3,589 in 2007, with an almost equal number of males and females. The town covers an area of approximately 10,106 dunums (2,027 acres), out of which 5,573 dunums (1377 acres) are suitable for agriculture and 443 (111 acres) are designated as residential. Agriculture faces numerous challenges, such as a lack of resources for farmers, limited access to pesticides, the presence of the Segregation Wall, limited water sources, restricted access to agricultural lands, insufficient capital and economic feasibility, land confiscation, and a shortage of land renovation by relevant authorities. The neighboring Israeli colony (settlement) of Giv'at Ze'ev, which was established in 1977, is situated on land that was taken from Beit ‘Anan and other Palestinian villages.
